Male freshman swimmer recognized for record-breaking week!
Two days after breaking the University Pool record in the 100-yard backstroke, freshman Ivan Kopas (Kikinda, Serbia) has been named the SimplexGrinnell Stony Brook Athlete of the Week. Kopas broke David Kahn’s nine-year-old record of 51.36 by 15-hundredths of a second. He won the 100 and 200-yard backstroke each by more than five seconds.
The men’s and women’s squads are back in action on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to take on Fordham at 5 pm.
