Attended by thousands of Science Fiction buffs every year for the last  years, I-CON is a 3day festival that celebrates "literacy, creativity and interest in science and technology through science fiction and its related genres" (www.iconsf.org). The festival offers events covering topics such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, anime, science and technology, comics, and even medieval reenactments.

Guest speakers from around the world engage visitors in panel discussions, workshops, demonstrations, and the Awards Banquet is the culmination of the event.

I-CON 28 will be April 3-5, 2009

I-CON has relocated from the Stony Brook University Campus (where they started out some 27 years ago as a student group) to the Brentwood campus of Suffolk Community College. The April '09 event will be held at the Holiday Inn - Ronkonkoma and the Hyatt Regency. There will be shuttle buses running a continuous loop.
