There are so many things to do on Long Island, but the single most
rewarding, relaxing and all-season activity is Antiquing.
Nearly every town on Long Island has an antique store and some have many more
than one. Visit the older business districts of Huntington, Centerport,
Cold Spring Harbor, Port Jefferson and even Fire Island and youe North Shore and
you'll find all sorts of shops specializing in collectibles, period
and retro furniture and antiques of all types.
The Island also hosts many Antique Shows and Festivals throughout the year. Check back often for announcements from our members on the next big Antique Show.

Robert Barker Antiques Lupton's Point Road 631-298-8845Long Island Museum of American Art, History and Carriages - The Long Island Museum of American Art, History and Carriages is located in Stony Brook. It's a nice afternoon and when you finish at the museum you can stroll through the village.
Nassau County Museum of Art- You'll find the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn Harbor. Located on 145 acres. Originally the home of William Cullen Bryant, poet and preservationist and the editor of the New York Evening Post. Then In 1919 Henry Clay Frick, co-founder of U.S. Steel Corporation bought it. The Beautiful Mansion and Grounds host art and sculpture shows and a permanent collection of over 600 works of art. There is also the Tee Ridder Miniatures Museum in a little house on the grounds. Make sure to check out the formal gardens and a the sculpture garden.
Old Bethpage Village Restoration - This one hundred acre outdoor, living museum lets visitors experience 19th century life on Long Island. Visit beautiful homes, a one room school house, shops, and an Inn.
American Air Power Museum- At Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, you can see operational World War II fighter planes and take a tour of an actual control tower.
Old Westbury Gardens - The former home of John S. Phipps 160 acres of formal gardens, landscaped grounds, woodlands, ponds and lakes surround the mansion, Westbury House. Did you know that one of the children of John Phipps still lives in the mansion next door? Cool huh?
Sagamore Hill - Home of the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, from 1885 until his death in 1919. From 1902 to 1908 this was his "Summer White House" and the focus of international attention. Today, Sagamore Hill is furnished just as it was and is a fascinating look into the life of a great president, father and man. Take the kids - see everything and then walk the grounds and pretend that you are one of those kids, living on Long Island when there wasn't traffic and there were no Starbuck
